Keyboard-Input Device
In the picture on the side, you can see a laptop. You have probably seen these things so many times, but have you really focused on the keyboard? The keyboard is for putting information into your computer. Such as letters, words, and numbers. But how does a keyboard actually work? When you press a key on your keyboard, a signal travels to the computer and the signal tells you what letter you are typing in its own language. A guy named Christopher Sholes makes the keyboard we use every day. He wanted to fix the layout because commonly used letters together were a problem. The keyboard was jamming up a lot, so he wanted an easier typing experience. In his design, he separated the commonly used letters. You can even see S and T separated on your keyboard right now! After several design changes, he sold his design to Remington. Remington also made many changes to the keyboard design. Remington's design broke a lot and was on the expensive side of things. His second design got sold to another group and was a tremendous success. This keyboard design is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and launched 7/11/1874.

Printer-Output Device
The printer is something teachers and people in the workplace use. The keyboard is something that takes electronic data and generates it into a hard copy. It does this by using a specialised software and converts the file to a language only the computer can understand. This printer is made by a guy names Gutenberg from China in the early 1800s. One day, he started to make printers. After many copies, He used his printers for commercials. The main reason he wanted to make this printer is to share knowledge among his community and for use with the different engine which is a calculator used in the early 1800s. The main parts of a printer are the memory card slot, paper feed, paper output, and the ink under cover. Now the printer is something we all use on a daily basis.

CPU-Processor
A CPU is something we don't see laying around that often because of where its suppose to stay. It is inside the computer. The purpose of it is to receive and execute instructions. Some people consider the CPU the brain of the computer. CPU stands for central processing unit. The instructions come from fetching it from the memory bank. The person who made the CPU is Federico Fagin. He made the first CPU using a silicone gate. Silicone gates are used for apartments, buildings, etc. The other parts of the CPU are the control unit, arithmetic logic unit, registers, cache, buses, and a clock.

RAM-Short term Memory
RAM (random access memory) is also inside the computer and it is used to handle all active activities and tasks. How it works is by storing common data that you use every day. Such as your password, common websites, etc. This was created by Robert Heath Dennard. People thought he was making a significant advance when creating this system. The RAM is made is the Fairchild Semiconductor in 1963. The RAM has cells and the RAM, can store 1 billion or even more! The common parts of the RAM are the gold contacts, the notch, and the memory notch for clips. Without the RAM, your work will never be saved ever again!
